Al-Ameen Social Media Policy
This guide describes the etiquettes for engaging on all social media platforms maintained by Al-Ameen, this includes all engagements on the following social platforms — WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. We expect all community members engaging on the platforms to abide by the following guidelines.
General Guidelines
Avoid publishing materials that maybe damaging to Al-Ameen’s image or profile.
All official communications and announcements including Ramadhan and Eid announcements, moon sightings, other important Islamic announcements, cancellations, etc MUST only be made by official channels.
Inform administrators when you’re about to share any major-impact content.
Avoid materials that maybe divisive, and/or may cause Fitnah or unnecessary discussions.
Avoid asking for Fatwa in public platform, as those concerns maybe best addressed directly.
Don’t over-share! As much as you’d love to share that useful content, remember there are hundreds of subscribers on our platforms, and receiving constant updates maybe irritating and cause subscribers (And have caused some in the past) to leave our platforms.
Avoid politically-motivated or divisive engagements that may target particular governments or political views, there are other platforms for that type of engagements.
Remember and ensure that other knows that your views are your own and don’t represent Al-Ameen and/or made on behalf of Al-Ameen, and or endorsed or authorised by Al-Ameen.
Avoiding posting offensive or derogatory materials.
Be respectful and following Islamic etiquettes in engaging with others, and/or correcting others privately, i.e. avoid public shaming!
Remove false/misleading information immediately, especially if advised by one of the admins.
Avoid engaging in matters outside your expertise.
Avoid violating copyright and trademark laws, and/or plagiarising.
